—Who Put The Bomp (In The Bomp, Bomp, Bomp)
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes - “Who Put the Bomp (In the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp) from the album Blow In The Wind
Happy cover song day!!! Last post for a week, so enjoy the holidays and stay tuned for more music when I return!
—Speeding Up To Slow Down
Better Than Ezra - “Speeding Up To Slow Down” from the album Friction, Baby
Another nostalgic 90s track. Sometimes I think this particular album by BTE slips under the radar compared to their others….and it’s one of their best.
“When they all are for, be against it”
—A Better Place
VAST - “A Better Place” from the album Music For People
Unfortunately I stopped following Mr. Crosby after he began releasing through his own label and online. I need to look up some of his more recent work…but the 3 albums I DO have are all amazing, and I suggest checking all his earlier stuff out. This song in particular is an all time favorite of mine.
“Release me from this need I have of me”
A nod to Mr. Hitchens on this day….may god be with yoahaha….couldn’t keep a straight face!
—Ashokan Farewell
Jay Ungar - “Ashokan Farewell” as heard on the documentary The Civil War
One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written, and made famous by Ken Burns’ Civil War documentary. Ironically, the only song from the doc/soundtrack that is NOT from the era…written in 1982!
